Meet Roads Minister and MP For Adaklu, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza

Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza is not just a seasoned legislator; he’s also a Chartered Architect dedicated to improving the lives of people in Ghana. Since 2013, he has proudly represented the Adaklu Constituency in Parliament, using his unique blend of architectural know-how and political experience to advocate for sustainable development and better infrastructure.

A Journey of Education and Expertise

Mr. Agbodza attended Mawuli Secondary School and continued with his tertiary education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. He didn’t stop there! He took his passion for architecture to the UK, where he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from East London University and a Professional Practice Qualification in Architecture from the University of Westminster.

As a Chartered Architect, he is a proud member of both the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA). He’s also registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) in the UK and the Architects Registration Council (ARC) in Ghana, showcasing his commitment to the profession.

His Parliamentary Adventure

Since joining Parliament, Mr. Agbodza has become a key player in shaping Ghana’s future. He has taken on important roles, including Vice Chairman and Ranking Member of the Roads and Transport Committee, and he’s also part of the Environment, Science, and Technology Committee.

In January 2023, he earned a well-deserved promotion to Minority Chief Whip, where he excelled! His work promoting road safety, inclusive infrastructure, and environmentally friendly construction practices is making a real difference and has been widely recognized.

Professional Contributions

Before stepping into politics, Mr. Agbodza was involved in many exciting consultancy projects in Ghana and internationally. His experience covers everything from project management to infrastructure planning, financing, procurement, and construction.

In Parliament, he plays a crucial role in approving financing and contracts for major infrastructure projects, showing his clear understanding of how governance and development go hand in hand.

Advocating for Change

Mr. Agbodza is passionate about overseeing Ghana’s roads and highways sector. His advocacy focuses on road safety, fair building standards, and promoting sustainable construction practices.
